Halloween 2015

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. It’s in autumn — the best season of all — and it’s just so much fun! The costumes, the trick-or-treating, the candy… what’s not to love?!

Here is my crew this past Halloween:

Highlights and photos from Halloween 2015.

Aren’t they sweet? We have a Day of the Dead seniorita, a swashbuckling pirate, an adorable vampiress, a bullet-nosed shark and Queen Elsa. I love them all.

I especially dug my sister’s Day of the Dead sugar skull makeup {temporary tattoos}. She did an excellent job.

And last, but not least, we mustn’t forget my sweet Kona dog. Is it a shark gobbling up a shiba inu? Or a shiba inu dressed up as a shark?

I also used the holiday as an opportunity to do something crafty: I made trick-or-treat bags for my kiddos! {Click for the tutorial to make one, too.} They were so much fun to make and the kids love them!

Highlights and photos from Halloween 2015.To cap off the holiday, my dear friend, Lea, was inspired by my DIY Halloween Wreath to make one of her own! I love that she went square vs. the traditional round. And look at all those creepy spiders!

She used a picture frame she found at a yard sale for $1 and covered it with orange and black tulle. She enlisted the help of her 6-year-old daughter to decorate it; they bought a few new items and used a few old ones from previous Halloweens. All in all, it cost about $9 to make and she gained new confidence in her ability to create something fun and festive for her home. Plus, it was a project she was able to share with her daughter. Priceless.

So those are my highlights and photos from Halloween 2015. Thanks for reading my recap! Hope you had a spook-tacular Halloween, too!  — v.
